Arbor Hills Veterinary Centre

Arbor Hills Veterinary Centre is a state of the art pet care facility with the latest technological advancements in equipment and design. The facility houses a comprehensive veterinary hospital including outpatient clinic and treatment area, an Intensive Care Unit, surgical suite with CO2 laser, imaging suite with all digital equipment and a dentistry suite with oral digital radiography. Dr Murphy, a certified veterinary laser surgeon, now performs TightRope Cranial Cruciate Ligament Repair. 

At Arbor Hills Veterinary Centre, we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion through the upcoming years. Our job is not to simply treat your pet when he or she is not feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.We understand the special role your pet plays as a member of your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care.

    Scott Murphy, DVM, CVLS

    Dr. Scott B. Murphy graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1984.  He then was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1988.  After 2 years in general practice, Dr. Murphy chose a career in emergency and critical care, serving as chief of staff at an area emergency hospital for the past 6 years. 

    Dr. Murphy continued general practice as a relief veterinarian for area practices and has continued his education by attending seminars and participating in local, state and national organizations.  Dr. Murphy is a member of the Veterinary Information Network and consults daily with veterinarians from all over the world over the internet. Dr. Murphy’s experience and expertise in the area or emergency and critical care greatly benefits the patients at Arbor Hills Pet Care Center. Dr Murphy and wife Jennifer have three children.

  • Melissa Suarez, DVM

    Melissa Suarez, DVM

    Dr Melissa Suarez has been with Arbor Hills Veterinary Centre since August of 2009. Suarez is originally from Laplace, LA but currently lives in Allen, Texas with her husband and three children. Suarez graduated from Louisiana State University in 2005 and has two dogs. She enjoys cooking, gardening, spending time with family and watching movies.

  • Frank Pena, DVM

    Frank Pena, DVM

    Dr. Peña graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin in 1987, and a Bachelors of Science from Texas A&M University in 1988. After graduating from vet school, he then completed a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Pena has lived and worked the DFW area since 1993. Dr. Peña's interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and pain management. He enjoys cycling, and you will find him riding the roads in his spare time, in addition to spending time with his wife and two children

    Rachel has been in the veterinary field for 2 years. She has an A.S. in Veterinary Technology,  Rachel took the national and state exams this year to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has 2 dogs (a Pomeranian and a Pit Bull mix), was born in Bakersfield, California, enjoys running, painting, reading and spending time with family.

    Janet Puddicombe, Client Services Specialist

    Janet is one of AHVC's friendly Client Relations Specialists. She has received her small animal veterinary assistant certification (CVA1), has several pets including a Chihuahua, "Li'l Girl", that she adopted. If Janet won the lottery, she'd open a doggie daycare center that offered a place for older dogs to live their lives after their owners pass away.

    Amy Murphy, Client Services Specialist

    Amy worked at Arbor Hills first in 2005 and returned in 2009 as a Kennel Technician and Veterinary Assistant before serving full-time as a Client Services Specialist. Amy has three dogs including Ivy who she recently adopted through the clinic. She enjoys volleyball, walking, riding bikes, and watching television. Amy is a very talented artist and photographer and has contributed artwork and photos to many clinic projects including promotional t shirts and brochures

    Monse has worked as a Kennel Technician and Bather for 1 year. She speaks English and Spanish, likes the movie Titanic and lives in Dallas. Monse's favorite animal is the dog and her favorite flowers are roses. If Monse won the lottery, she would buy a house and save the rest for her kids

    Anne Spurrier, Pet Stylist

    AHVC is pleased to announce the addition of full time Pet Stylist Anne Spurrier to our team. Anne received her Associates degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Fashion Design before receiving her Pet Grooming Certificate from Petite Pooch Grooming Academy.

    Her lifelong artistic talents lead her from her position as an Instructor in Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Dallas to Master Pet Stylist and Grooming Instructor before joining the Arbor Hills team. Anne is a member of the International Society of Canine Cosmetologists, the National Dog Groomers Association of America and is certified in animal CPR and First Aid.

She has been in the veterinary field since 1998, is a volunteer for Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs and is currently a puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.
